A lovey blanket

I have been so busy gathering and making things (practical things) for this boy that it never really occurred to me to make something that was just for him. A couple weeks ago I stumbled upon this blanket and I knew I had to make it. It will be great as a play mat for him while he's real little and hopefully he'll like to keep it around when he's a bit older - imperfections and all.
