But that's exactly how I feel.
I'm having a difficult time getting my head around this: I'm going to be someone's dad. It isn't just that it's going to happen—once it does happen, I'll have that job forever. I used to be a tennis player but I'm not one anymore. I used to be a resident assistant in a college dorm, but I will never ever do that again. I used to work in an office supply store and if I play my cards right, I hope to never have that job again either. This one is for life. My dad is still on the job. And at 91 years old, my dad's pop is on active duty.
