Baby Gazing

Well we all made it home, and after a long week in the hospital we have been enjoying an equally long but much more exciting and enjoyable week at home. We have been doing a whole lot of nothing, just welcoming a few visitors here and there, eating good food (thanks to Zach who has turned into quite the homemaker/ man-about-house), napping, and baby gazing.

In the last month or so of the pregnancy I day dreamed often about these days when all we needed to do was look at this baby and love him, and here we are in the thick of it and it is better than I ever thought it could be. A friend of ours likened this phenomena to a bonfire, you just can't stop staring and it never gets boring. Now, don't get me wrong, there have been some trying moments (blow outs in a public restroom + inconsolable baby, getting a hang of nursing, waking up in the middle of the night) but it all seems so small compared to the good stuff. Even his cry is cute.
Oscar met his new friend Miles, we're so excited for them to get to know each other.

Needless to say, we're totally in love.

  1. What the heck? Is Oscar smiling in the picture of Zach holding him? Precocious little guy.
